Ever since I was a small child I have been drawing and painting obsessively. After I had my son at the tender age of 17 I had to stop because of the time constraints of raising a child by myself and going to school and working.
In 2010 my son decided to join the army and I found myself with a lot more free time so I decided to try making jewelry. It turned into something I love, I almost have a physical need to make something every day. I had been selling collectables on Ebay for several years with a fair amount of success so I thought why not try selling my jewelry. I had heard about Etsy and thought that would be a good fit. It turned out to be a lot more difficult than I had expected but due to the poor economy and losing my job I had no other choice but to try and make it a success.
I have gone from making jewelry while I was living in Oregon in a motel room, to almost homeless, to renting a room in Colorado for 2 1/2 years with my large, fuzzy dog. I then found myself in a small house in Mexico where I had to leave behind all my tools and supplies due to a kidnapping attempt and ended up starting over in New Mexico in October 2014. December of 2014 I had my busiest month ever where my sales tripled over what I had been averaging. My business is continuing to grow and I couldn't be happier now I'm in Nevada and continue to expand my business.
I have a Bachelor's degree in marketing and have worked in retail, sales, marketing and bookkeeping and management for over 20 years. I believe all that experience has helped me to become a successful entrepreneur. The thought of going back to working in an office or for someone else makes my soul die a little. I love what I'm doing and I love being able to share what I make with people all over the world.
I'm a proud member of The Artisan Group and my jewelry, in association with The Artisan Group, was displayed and gifted at the 2016 GBK Golden Globes Gift Lounge and given to the press at the MTV movie awards in 2014 and 2015.
